NO PROMISES

I am curious about how to move through the dense patterns of our living world in ways that create a sense of spaciousness—where whimsy and play can roam freely. This body of work combines found, discarded materials such as old sweatshirts, ketchup packets, and gossip with more carefully crafted wooden, bronze, and glass containers. These small sculptures attempt to hold a longing for a story without rehearsing a narrative. Small objects present us with a choice: stay and look or move on. Small gestures can carry weight. Objects often belong to specific systems and scales: the social, economic, temporal, scientific, consumable, and intimate. Placing these systems in conversation with one another forces one to re-navigate. This combination of scales can be surprising, awkward or funny. Their strangeness straddles illegibility and practicality.

Work shown at fourteenfifteen gallery in Albuquerque, New Mexico in March of 2026.
